In our fast-paced, highly competitive society, we all want to have more, to be better, to do more. Ambition is good. It keeps us focused on our objectives. While seeking self-improvement is healthy, we must also learn to appreciate our individual journeys. This helps us to be content with who and where we currently are in life. Though I still have many goals I want to accomplish, every now and then I have to remind myself that none of my accomplishments–past or future—define me. Even if I never get that doctorate, lose that ten pounds, or fold the laundry immediately after drying 😉 , I am and will always be enough.
